When Tracy and Alan Litman wanted to pay tribute to their son Nicholas, they chose Picture This On Granite as their partner. The Nicholas H. Null Memorial can now be visited and found in Parkersburg, West Virginia.
It was very important to them that this monument be a reminder and gathering place for all of those serving and those whom have served, so that we may never forget the true gift of service any one person can make to their country, their own life. The team at Picture This On Granite worked with Tracy and Alan to determine the scope of the project, including the design, size of materials to be used along with artwork, and after a few 3D renderings from our in house graphic artist, the final proof was approved.
Picture This On Granite wanted to assure Tracy and Alan Litman as to what they could expect, shaping this beautiful granite memorial project, into a reality, was now happening.
The memorial is composed of 3 tablets, the middle one is 48 inch x 96 inch x 8 inch thick and the two side tablets are 48 inch x 72 inch x 8 inch thick, honoring all warriors who lost their lives with Nicholas during an ultimate mission, on 6 August 2011, a U.S. CH-47 Chinook helicopter, call sign Extortion 17, was shot down while transporting a quick reaction force attempting to reinforce an engaged unit of U.S. Army Rangers in Wardak province, Afghanistan, as well as local Mid-Ohio Valley Fallen Soldiers from Desert Storm, Iraq and Afghanistan, with the PGHD® laser etched process.
The front piece, where stands a bronze “Fallen Soldier” statue honoring soldier Nicholas H. Null, is 30 inch x 44 inch x 35 inch.
