This Veteran’s Day, Arlington residents were invited to honor members of the United States and Allied Armed Forces who heroically served our country during the Korean War and Vietnam War, as well as all military service members from Arlington who lost their lives in service to this country.
The 16th Annual Veterans Day Commemoration Ceremony was Saturday, Nov. 11 at the Arlington Veterans Park Memorial at Veterans Park, 3600 W. Arkansas Lane.
This year’s ceremony began with the dedication of the Korean War and Korean Defense Veterans Memorial and Memorial To The Fallen, which included remarks from city leadership, the Arlington Tomorrow Foundation, and other dignitaries and community leaders. The afternoon concluded with a ribbon cutting ceremony for the Korean War and Korean Defense Veterans Memorial presented by the Korean War Veterans Association and the Consulate of the Republic Of Korea in Dallas.
The event was organized by the Arlington Great Southwest Rotary Club and the Arlington Veterans Park Foundation and was also co-sponsored by The Heroes of South Vietnam Memorial Foundation.
This year’s keynote speaker was Col. Long Pham, U.S. Army Retired (1985-2017) and current Arlington City Council Member.
