From Concept to Reality

The small town of beautiful Shickley Nebraska, built a permanent memorial dedicated to the men and women of the United States Military who have served their country. Their Mission was to honor the sacrifices that have been made, by their local veterans and families.

The memorial consists of a bronze statue center piece sitting on top of a gray granite pedestal. Attached to the sides of the center pedestal are engraved black granite round plaques, representing all five branches of the military. Surrounding the center pedestal are six free standing black granite slabs. Names of veterans are engraved on one side, historical data of all theaters of war are engraved on the other. To the rear of the memorial is the longest free standing, laser engraved, black granite wall ever constructed! It is etched with portraits of family heroes surrounded by iconic military and war pictures. Flags have been placed around the area along with benches, donor pavers, lighting, and a walkway with landscaping. Throughout the memorial, 50 American Flags will be displayed, both flying and etched into the artwork on the walls.
