From Concept to Reality

This monument is the first in Florida to honor the individual military personnel lost in the Iraq and Afghanistan wars. There were 349 Floridians who were killed in those wars and their names are included on the monument, permanently memorializing their service and sacrifice.

Several dignitaries, including Port St. Lucie Mayor Shannon Martin, Gold Star Mothers Kim Allison and Michele Carey, and Steve Udovich from The Iraq and Afghanistan War Memorial Foundation, were among the speakers.”-City of Port Saint Lucie
