The EMS Council of New Jersey (EMSCNJ) built a new 9/11 memorial in Keansburg, NJ. This memorial, the first of its kind in the USA, will honor all the emergency medical services (EMS) personnel who responded to the World Trade Center attacks on September 11, 2001. The memorial features a piece of steel beam from the World Trade Center and is located near Keansburg’s existing 9/11 memorial.
Groundbreaking: A groundbreaking ceremony was held on September 10, 2017.
Dedication: The memorial was dedicated on September 14, 2024.
Location: The memorial is located in Keansburg, NJ, on Beachway Avenue, near the borough’s existing 9/11 memorial.
Features: The memorial includes a piece of steel beam from the World Trade Center and granite towers with the names of EMS responders who died at the World Trade Center.
Construction and development of the park will continue through 2025.
