Picture This On Granite was proud to provide its expertise and services for the Veterans Memorial Granite Wall, in Bury, Quebec, Canada.

Those who travel to Bury for its popular Remembrance Day services this November will notice a new external exhibit at the back of the Old Armoury Community Centre commemorating the village’s military heritage.

Nearly two years after Bury’s councilors approved the project, the municipality unveiled the installation with the Haut-Saint-François’ CLD (Centre local de développement) earlier this month to honor those who served the country on the battlefield.

The exhibit features seven granite interpretation panels engraved with text and pictures provided by veterans and their families. Affixed to a wall on the side of the community center with access to the Memorial Park, the exhibit provides a narration of Bury’s military historical past. While locals may be acutely aware of the wartime sacrifice, the installation is meant to help the general population, younger generations and visiting tourists appreciate the personal sacrifice made by many of Bury’s families.
