From Concept to Reality

Santa Clarita has built a new memorial dedicated to it’s fallen warriors. The monument was unveiled by gold star families during a poignant ceremony at Veterans Historical Plaza in Newhall, CA.

Amongst the Gold Star Families in attendance were Ed Colley and his wife. They mourned the deaths of two sons who served their country.

California Assembly member Dante Acosta said, “The most honorable thing that I can say about my life is that I am a gold star father.” The memorial includes the names of every Soldier of the Santa Clarita Valley, who lost their lives fighting for their country. The ceremony came to a close with a 21-gun salute from the President Ronald Reagan Marine Corps League.
